Malcolm Ayres

Malcolm is another of our newer members who is still a member at Waterlooville B.C., so his time with us will be split with his other club. He is enjoying his time spent with us and we are hopeful he will be able to get involved at Southbourne more over future years. Trying to juggle work commitments and find time for his bowling can sometime prove difficult but he is showing great interest since joining Southbourne.

Fred Brimecombe

Joining Southbourne a few seasons ago 'Freddie' enjoys nothing more than a Sunday morning roll up with a couple of mates. Hopefully Fred and Co. will be available for more games at Southbourne during the coming seasons. All his practice must be paying of as Fred was runner-up in the Longley Cup in 2007.

Antony Bull

'Ant' is our most accomplished player of recent years. Five England U25 trials and national glory with the Sussex U25 Double Rink in 2001 show he has had plenty of experience at the highest level. Ant has reached six county finals, winning four of them, and represented Sussex in the Middleton Cup. Club competition wins now total twenty eight, including being the clubs Singles champion seven times.

His performances have surely put him in line for richly deserved County recognition before too long.

John Knowles

After watching our Gazette league team during 2006 John decided it was time to take up the game himself. Although finding time to play has proved difficult at times, John takes an interest in all the clubs endeavors. The highlight of John's 2007 season was being part of the Open Day Fours winning team an achievement he repeated in 2008.  P.S. Don't try to keep up with him 'pint for pint'...... you wont.
